What Drives Me
Children are one of the most malleable things on earth. They go through all the transitions of their life soaking up good and bad experiences like a sponge, and this shapes what kind of person that they will go on to be. If you think about it, most of a person's childhood is spent in a school building. This means that teachers have a lot of opportunity to be a positive influence in a child's life.
What drives me in my teaching career is working everyday to be that positive influence. Too many times children are handed the short end of the stick and not given the motivation to better themselves. It's a terrible cycle that happens far too often, and if I can do anything to help propel a student to success then I know I'm doing something worthwhile in my work.
